Martin Battye

Born in Suffolk but having lived and worked for most of his life in Norfolk, Martin Battye has combined careers in painting with designing and making medical equipment. Sunderland Art School was followed by a variety of largely unrelated jobs – teaching, nursing, sailing boats and for a while working for the Late John Latham, which had its moments. From the Northern Young Contemporaries in 1974 he has been a regular contributor to group shows RA Summer Exhibition, Eastern Open (watercolour prize winner) to more recent Norwich 20 Shows.
