Raymond Leech

Raymond Leech is a distinguished British painter renowned for his impressionistic depictions of the East Anglian coastline, vibrant figurative scenes, and the rhythmic energy of dance. Born in Great Yarmouth in 1949, his work is characterised by a masterly handling of light and a keen ability to capture fleeting, everyday moments with emotional resonance.

Leech’s artistic journey began under the guidance of his father, who taught him to draw. He went on to formalise his training at the Great Yarmouth College of Art from 1965 to 1969. While he initially built a successful career in graphic design, the growing demand for his fine art eventually led him to transition into a full-time professional painting practice.
