Roland Green 1890 – 1972

Watercolourist whose love of ornithology was matched only for his love of the Broadland landscape. An expert of bird anatomy whose father was a taxidermist in Kent and worked for the Natural History Museum London.

Roland Green lived at Hickling Norfolk where his studio on the very edge of the water would regularly flood to bring in ducks and wading birds. He illustrated several ornithological books including Birds of our Garden by Enid Blight and British Birds and Their Nests.
