What can you buy with an Own Art Loan?
The artwork you wish to purchase through an Own Art loan must be by a contemporary (living) artist. It must be an original piece of work or a print to a limited edition of 150 or less. (Own Art cannot be used for the purchase of Giclée prints except where the artist has used digital technology specifically in order to conceive and create an image in this media.)
Own Art is available to all UK residents over the age of 18, subject to status. This means that you must be able to meet the following criteria in order to be approved for a loan:
- Over the age of 18
- A permanent UK resident
- Working at least 16 hours a week (employed or self-employed)
- A retired person in receipt of a pension
- If you are not working but are married to or living with a partner who does have a full time job, then you may still apply provided that your partner is happy for their employment details to be included on your application form.
If you meet the criteria above, call in at the gallery and we’ll be pleased to guide you through the application process. As with all credit applications, this requires you to fill in your address, contact, employment and income details. The application is assessed in minutes and once approved, you are free to take your artwork home. Proof of residence is required such as a drivers licence.
