Jackie Devereux’s career as an artist spans her adult life, and she is unashamedly obsessed with both colour and empty spaces. Taking time to compose her work directly from nature or from her volumes of sketches created during years of world travel, maintaining spontaneity and freshness, she moves swiftly and intuitively to create her works on paper. The challenge of working large with luscious transparent watercolour or a mixture of ink and watercolour, she will embrace the whole process as if in partnership with her chosen materials.
